Just two weeks after Jimmie Johnson wins the O’Reilly Auto Parts 500 at Texas Motor Speedway, he clinches another win at Bristol Motor Speedway. After heavy amounts of rain on Sunday the Monster Energy Cup Series race was rescheduled for Monday, where there was 9 cautions, 14 lead changes, and only 15 drivers on the lead lap in the end. Johnson started 11th on Monday and led 81 laps taking home his 82nd victory.
Clint Bowyer, who had no top 5 finishes last year, locked in his 2nd Top 5 in 2017 and 4th Top 10 finish. Another strong competitor during the Monster Energy Cup Series race was Kyle Larson. Larson led 202 laps and because of a late race pit road penalty had to battle his way from 17th to finish 6th.
Thank you to our customers who came out and battled the rain to enjoy the Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway. We look forward to seeing you in two weeks on May 7th for the Geico 500 at Talladega Superspeedway.
