Bristol Dragway reached capcity on Tuesday, August 22nd for the filming of Street Outlaws.

Drag racing fans invade Thunder Valley this week

It was an amazing crowd at the dragstrip known as Thunder Valley in Bristol, TN this past Tuesday night, August 22nd. For the taping of an upcoming episode of Street Outlaws (aired on Discovery Channel) took place and the fans poured in.

The stars of “Street Outlaws” brought the horsepower and the talent as 32 drivers battled it out for a $100,000 payday.  Not only was this the largest pay out in the show’s history but it was also the first time that Street Outlaws has been filmed at a professional Dragway such as Thunder Valley.

“What an amazing turnout at this episode taping of the Discovery Channel’s ‘Street Outlaws,’” said Jerry Caldwell, general manager of the Bristol Motor Speedway and Dragway. “We knew the show was tremendously popular. However, we didn’t anticipate a turnout this strong for a Tuesday night. It’s a testament to the show’s popularity, the power of social media engagement and the opportunity for fans to be a part of history.”

The track apologized to fans who were unable to get in as the event reached capacity at close to 30,000 race fans.
